At the box office, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has been steadily increasing. In addition to confirming that Kumar will star in all upcoming Kesari franchise movies, filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi recently discussed his decision to cast Ananya Panday as Dillreet Gill.
Karan Singh Tyagi disclosed that Akshay Kumar will continue to be the franchise's leader and provided information about the next installments in an interview with a media outlet. With the release of Kesari Chapter 2, he said, they are continuing the story and will be introducing more tales of unsung heroes.
Fans were reassured by Karan that Akshay would undoubtedly star in all of the franchise's next movies. He praised Akshay's outstanding performance in the movie and underlined that he is synonymous with Kesari and the representation of unsung heroes, their bravery, and their sacrifices.
The choice to cast Ananya Panday in Kesari Chapter 2 in 2022 was apparently influenced by her performance in Gehraiyaan, according to Karan Singh Tyagi. He recalls meeting her and offering her the role of Dilreet Gill after being profoundly impacted by her performance in Gehraiyaan.
Karan highlighted Ananya's outstanding performance in Kesari Chapter 2 and commended her commitment to the movie. She studied the habits of female lawyers and received dialect training for more than a year, he said.

The lawyer-turned-director praised Panday's preparation for the part, revealing that she read a book full of poetry about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and did a lot of research on the subject. The book became "her Bible," he said, as she brought it to the set.
He went on to say that Ananya gave the part of Dilreet Gill her all, highlighting how she flawlessly embodied the character's steely resolve and sensitivity in her characterization.
