Khushi Kapoor to Carry On Sridevi's Legacy in Mom Sequel! Mon March 10th, 2025

During Sunday's IIFA 2025 silver jubilee celebrations, producer Boney Kapoor disclosed that he and his daughter Khushi Kapoor are working on a follow-up to Sridevi's last movie, Mom.

Boney Kapoor talked about his affection for his daughters, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, during the IIFA 2025 green carpet media engagement. He said that the two are working to emulate their mother Sridevi and achieve a comparable degree of success in different film sectors. Boney Kapoor revealed, “I have watched all of Khushi's films—Archies, Loveyappa, and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection.”

Mom, which was directed by Ravi Udyawar and stars Sridevi, was released in 2017. For her role in the movie, she received the National Award for Best Actress posthumously.

Updates on his next project, No Entry, were also provided by the producer. He added that the names of the movie's main actresses will be formally revealed after the casting is complete.

"No Entry will go sometime in July-August," said Boney Kapoor. I can't just discuss a handful of the leading ladies right now since there are too many. We still have some to go after locking a few. There will be an official announcement following our finalization.

Pre-production is well under way for the eagerly awaited follow-up to the 2005 smash comedy No Entry, which Boney Kapoor is producing.
