Abhishek Bachchan: 'Aaradhya's Generation Doesn't Understand Hierarchy'

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are the joyful parents of Aaradhya, a 13-year-old girl. The King actor recently discussed raising a child and made a comparison between the views of the younger and older generations. He observed that there is no feeling of hierarchy in his daughter's generation.

Using his daughter Aaradhya as an example, Abhishek Bachchan stressed in a media discussion that he has come to recognize the stark differences between the younger generation and himself.

 

He clarified his argument by saying: "To start with, they have no sense of hierarchy like we did. In the case of our generation, if your parents said something, you just listened to it. The younger generation is far more inquisitive. They want to know why; they’re not just going to do something because their parents have said it."

 

The actor acknowledged that the younger generation doesn't think that older people always know the answers. They don't have to ask their parents questions since they have Google for that, he joked. He said that children today mostly look to their parents for affection.

According to Abhishek Bachchan, his generation used to look to their parents for knowledge and experience. According to him, the younger generation is in charge of everything and looks for explanations for everything, which he called "wonderful."

 

Bachchan revealed that his niece and nephew, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda, had already given him a sense of what to anticipate from his daughter, Aaradhya. "They are, by no means, rude. It’s just that we have to tilt our perspectives a bit," he revealed.

 

The Housefull 5 star reflected on his parents, the late great Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, saying he was allowed to make his own choices. He acknowledged that instead of receiving instructions on what to do, he had learned everything from his parents by watching how they behaved.
