On November 23, Ashwini Dhir, a filmmaker best known for films like Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardar and Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, lost his 18-year-old son, Jalaj Dhir, in a car accident. According to reports, Jalaj was traveling with three buddies when the collision happened, and both he and one of his friends perished.

In a terrible event that was covered by a famous daily newspaper, Ashwini Dhir's 18-year-old son was on the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle with three companions when their vehicle struck a divider. The group had left Bandra to go to Goregaon late at night.

18-year-old Sahil Mendha was operating the vehicle, and it was said that he was intoxicated at the time. Mendha lost control of the car as they got closer to the Sahara Star Hotel, and it collided with the northbound side barrier between the service road and the bridge.

Unfortunately, after being taken to the hospital, Jalaj and another buddy, Sarth Kaushik, who was seated in the back seat, passed away from their wounds. The fourth companion in the car, Jedan Jimmy, gave a statement that led to Mendha's detention. Mendha's blood samples have been sent for analysis by the police to verify the presence of alcohol.

Jimmy claims that on the evening of November 22, he and Mendha went to Jalaj's house in Goregaon, where Mendha drank two pegs of vodka. At around 3:30 am, the group made the decision to take a drive.

Mendha took over the wheel and drove at 120 to 150 km/h after driving for a short while. Mendha became disoriented and lost control of the vehicle when they arrived at the Sahara Star Hotel, which resulted in the deadly collision.

Jalaj and Sarthak suffered grave injuries, but Jimmy and Mendha only had minor wounds. Jimmy quickly transported Jalaj to the trauma center in Jogeshwari East with the help of two onlookers. Jalaj was sadly subsequently taken to Kokilaben Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Sarthak was taken by Mendha to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, where he was also declared deceased. Jimmy reported the unfortunate events to the authorities, and Mendha was arrested as a result.
