Riya Sen's Emotional Farewell to Her Father!

On November 19, 2024, Bharat Dev Varma, the husband of actress Moon Moon Sen and the father of actresses Raima and Riya Sen, died at his home in Kolkata. Riya just posted a lengthy message about her father on Instagram. Along with the message, the actress included a picture and penned, "I have no regrets now that he’s gone and even when I was unhappy, I smiled for him and dedicated tons of quality time to him."

 

Riya Sen's post read, "When a dad leaves us, his impact remains in our hearts and memories. The lessons he taught and the love he shared continue to guide us. We cherish the moments we had and draw strength from them, knowing he’s still part of who we are."

 

Sen is seen in the photo smiling and standing with her late father, Bharat Dev Varma, as she leans on his shoulder.

Sen went on to say that their deeds and the principles her father taught them carry on his legacy. The Plan actress said she loved and cared for him to the best of her ability and expressed her thanks for always being there for him, through good times and bad. She spent meaningful time with him and smiled for him even when he was unhappy.

 

Sen said she has no regrets about his demise, calling his exit "graceful and destined that pays tribute to his true soul and larger-than-life approach."

The Style actress expressed how much he was touched by his longtime employees' visits to offer their condolences as well as the support of friends and relatives. She recalled him as the most loving, giving, entertaining, and agreeable father anyone could have.

 

According to media reports, Bharat Dev Varma's condition quickly deteriorated, forcing his family to request an ambulance from a Dhakuria-area hospital. Unfortunately, before the ambulance could get to him, he died.

Varma was a member of the former Tripuran royal family. His mother, Ila Devi, was the older sister of Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur and a princess of Cooch Behar. Searji Rao Gaikwad III, the Maharaja of Vadodara, had only one daughter, Indira, who was his grandmother.
