Farhan Akhtar opens up about Dil Chahta Hai sequel!

One of the most cherished movies at the time was Dil Chahta Hai. One may argue that this is a movie that hasn't aged at all. Fans of the iconic film featuring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna still hope for a follow-up since it was about friendship and love. No matter how many movies Farhan produces, one question remains constant in the eyes of his fans: When will Dil Chahta Hai get a sequel? Actor and director have opened up about it in a recent interview.

 

Farhan Akhtar stated in an interview with the Indian Express that he is never bored talking about Dil Chahta Hai. In fact, he said that Farhan is often shocked by how much love people have for the movie, especially when they ask him for the sequel. “I always appreciate that, so it can’t bore me ever. But I don’t feel I need to do a Dil Chahta Hai 2. I feel that film has done what it had to do; I said what I had to say. Anything on it now will be trying to add something to a story that doesn’t need any additions.”

 

Farhan Akhtar went on to explain that, in his opinion, movies with similar emotional spaces in terms of the stories being presented are Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the original Rock On, and Jee Le Zaraa, which is currently in production. Farhan went on to say that he felt similar feelings when filming Dil Chahta Hai. He has never considered coming back and creating a sequel because of this.
