Shania Twain calls herself Taylor Swift's Aunt!

Taylor Swift is so highly regarded by Shania Twain that she considers her a member of the family. Here is what the singer of Any Man of Mine had to say about Taylor during a recent visit on The Drew Barrymore Show.

 

Shania Twain, 58, said in the video that was shared on Instagram that “I feel like I’m her aunt or something,” she added, “We’re in sync in a lot of ways and I really have a lot of respect, and compassion … The weight of any young artist in her position is enormous, and she just gets through it seemingly so effortlessly but we all know that it’s not. It’s a lot of effort. A lot of work. She’s a hard, hard worker.”

 

Taylor was spotted in New York City earlier this month sporting a t-shirt that made homage to Shania Twain's well-known song Any Man of Mine. This moved Shania, and she thought it was a beautiful gesture. The meaning of the T-shirt has been the subject of much speculation among fans, especially in light of Taylor's upcoming album 1989 (Taylor's Version), which is scheduled for release on October 27. Taylor's decision to wear the T-shirt allude to a potential connection to or inspiration from Shania Twain, who released two versions of her 2002 album Up! in the pop and country genres.

 

In a different TikTok clip, Taylor featured images of herself and Shania Twain and made mention to Shania's double album from 2002. Taylor's caption said, "Learned from the best." It was clear from their encounter that the two artists respected and admired one another.
