Grammy Gold: Beyonce Wins Album of the Year with

For the first time, Beyoncé wins Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Taylor Swift gave her the Best Country Album award earlier in the program.

To accept the amazing and well-earned distinction, the music legend accompanied her daughter Blue Ivy on stage wearing a stunning strapless blue gown. As of right now, she is the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.

She became the first Black woman to win Album of the Year in 26 years after losing four times in the category. "I hope we just keep pushing forward, opening doors," she told in her acceptance speech.

 

When Beyoncé learned that her multi-genre, high-concept album Cowboy Carter was a nominee for Best Country Album at the 67th Grammy Awards, she was likewise shocked.

To add to the excitement, musician Taylor Swift, who has successfully shifted between many genres and is the Grammy winner, presented Cowboy Carter with the prestigious prize.

 

As Queen Bey accepted her prize, she remarked, "I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists. And I want to encourage people to do whatever they’re passionate about, and stay persistent."
