Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu Chopra opens up on nepotism in Bollywood!
NEWS RATING
Although Priyanka Chopra is well known for her frank opinions on movies and social issues, it appears that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Madhu Chopra, her mother, is also rather talkative. In a recent interview, Madhu voiced her audacious belief that the term "nepotism" was created by irritated individuals. "Nobody will put money on you if you are somebody's son; you have to have talent," she continued.

When Madhu considered the current debate regarding nepotism in Bollywood during a media chat, she said that the issue becomes moot when there is true talent and merit.

She emphasized that these kinds of procedures have been used for many years in all sectors of the economy and that it is in the nature of parents to provide their children possibilities. She did, however, stress that in order to support their stance, it is imperative that their potential be developed.

As nepotism is unsustainable, individuals who don't deserve a position eventually lose out, in her opinion. She also shared her opinion that genuine skill is what attracts investors, and that no one will fund someone just because they are related to someone in the business.

In closing, Madhu Chopra said that the term nepotism was coined by irritated people who could not accept this fact.

Priyanka Chopra had previously voiced worries about her career following a string of failures in 2008, pointing out that she lacked the benefit of being a "nepo baby."

She remembered being scared, as did her mother, who said that as she got closer to 30, the age that's seen as elderly in the film business, she should think about having a backup plan.

The Don 2 actress revealed that the industry generally favored younger actors, so her mother, who had a business perspective, encouraged her to consider alternative sources of income. She claimed that this talk inspired her to try her hand at producing.

Chopra also mentioned how terribly concerned she was when six of her films did poorly, highlighting the difficulties that outsiders in Bollywood confront.

She lacked the familial support system necessary to overcome setbacks, which added to her anxiety, in contrast to multigenerational actors who frequently get second chances.
