During the October 6, Sunday, segment of the show, Lopez made an appearance in a taped interview where she discussed her memories. The vocalist began by talking about how she had watched it as a little child.

The performer of On The Floor continued talking about his incredible victory in the 2011 Favourite Latin Artist category. Getting the fan-voted trophy, according to her, is quite impressive since it comes from the people that one does songs for. It was a "humbling experience," as she put it.
The singer also thought back on her honorable role as host of the 2015 award presentation. The singer revealed that she made the decision to switch up her outfits each time she performed live.
As another snippet from her performance appeared onscreen, Lopez reevaled, “We did this dance medley to all of these amazing songs from that year, and I wanted everyone to feel that love and energy." When she hinted that she would do it again in the future, she offered her admirers hope.
She talked about her Celia Cruze tribute performance and the power of music during the interview, stating that the American Music Awards have demonstrated this for the past 50 years. She also discussed the power of music to heal, uplift, and connect us. She said she was looking forward to the next 50 years of magic and music.
