Former co-star Helen Worth recalls Geoff Hinsliff as 'A Lovely, Quiet Man'!
Geoff Hinsliff, 87, a Coronation Street star, has died, according to a tabloid. The actor, best remembered for his role as Don Brennan on the sitcom from 1987 to 1997, died earlier this week, according to The Independent.

According to the aforementioned publication, Helen Worth, who plays Gail Platt on Coronation Street, remarked about the late celebrity: “Geoff was a lovely, quiet man who will sadly be missed by us all. His partnership with Lynne Perrie was something rather special, and they gave viewers huge pleasure for many years.”

Geoff, sometimes known as Geoffrey, first appeared in the legendary soap from 1963 until 1977, playing a variety of characters before landing a regular position as Don. During his decade-long run on Cornie, Don became one of the show's most recognizable villains thanks to his involvement in kidnapping and murder plots.

Geoff, who was born in Leeds in 1937 and trained at RADA (the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), made his television debut in an episode of Z-Cars. He went on to appear in shows such as Adam Adamant Lives!, Dixon of Dock Green, UFO, The Professionals, Brass, Doctor Who, and others.

Hinsliff most recently played an alcoholic in the television series Holby City in 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, whom he married in 1967 at St. Cecilia's Church, Little Hadham, East Hertfordshire. The couple has a daughter named Gaby, who works as a journalist for The Guardian. Geoffrey's cause of death has yet to be revealed.
