Fri August 02nd, 2024
In a recent interview, Arjun Rampal reflected on the event that occurred when he was only 24 years old and got married to his ex-wife Mehr Jesia. The Crakk actor discussed the negative effects of getting married young and why he doesn't want to make the same mistake twice with his girlfriend, Gabriella Demetriades, in a media talk.
Between 1998 and 2019, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia were a relationship; their two children, Mahikaa and Myra, were raised together. Rampal recalled how he got married at the age of 24, “I think it is too early; you're too young, and there's a lot to learn and experience. You have to become mature. Guys mature far slower than women do. It's a proven fact that we are idiots. If you want to be successful in it (marriage), wait it out.”
The actor of Om Shanti Om claims that it is nothing short of a "miracle" when men marry their childhood sweethearts and go on to have happy relationships.
During the same chat, the 51-year-old reflected on his own divorce and said that while it was not easy for anyone, it was especially tough for his kids. Although the separation may feel liberating at first, Arjun claimed that eventually it becomes "uneasy and lonely." "You start to miss home," he continued.
Rampal acknowledged that he was supposed to be sound in handling such a situation because he came from a broken home. After that, he said, “I realized why it went wrong and what were the things, and I take responsibility for it.”
