There's been a change of cast in Mira Nair's small-screen take on Vikram Seth's novel A Suitable Boy.
Shefali Shah had to quit the pivotal part of the bride-in-waiting Lata’s mother Rupa Mehra because of date issues and she’s been replaced by Mahira Kakkar. While Mahira might not be as well-known as Shefali, she’s a Juilliard-trained actor who has appeared in top American shows like Orange Is The New Black, The Blacklist and Law & Order. Don’t be surprised when A Suitable Boy turns her into a household name!
