SRK's strong message for Gautam Gambhir when he rejoined Kolkata Knight Riders!

Among Bollywood's most renowned actors is Shah Rukh Khan. The multifaceted individual is also the proud owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, an Indian Premier League team. In 2011, former Indian cricket player Gautam Gambhir became a member of King Khan's side and assumed the role of captain. The group had successful IPL seasons in 2012 and 2014. Gambhir rejoined the KKR as a mentor last year. During a recent fan interaction, Gautam Gambir recollected SRK's timeless remark from 13 years ago: "Make it or break it."

 

In anticipation of the much-anticipated IPL 2024 season, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has returned to work as the team mentor for Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders. With the former batter setting aside his success credo, the management has been maintaining a very high level of expectation.

 

In a recent conversation with the media at the 'KKR Unplugged' event on March 18, Gautam Gambhir discussed his attitude of being 'difficult to manage' and disclosed the message that Shah Rukh Khan had sent him. He told, “Firstly, I want to say one thing -- I'm a very tough guy to handle. I have to thank SRK and Venky bhai (CEO Venky Mysore) who is here as well... They have taken a lot of my tantrums, stubbornness for such a long period of time."

 

"Kyun ke sach yeh hai ki hum sachchai se ladna jaante hai, hum haar na jaante hai, aur hum jitna bhi jaante hain (Because the truth is that we know how to fight with honesty, we know how to lose, and we know how to win)," he further added.

 

Gambhir continued, reminiscing about his time with KKR in 2011 and sharing King Khan's stern words with him upon his return to the squad. "He only told me the same thing that he had told me when I joined KKR as a player in 2011: 'This is your franchise, make it or break it.' He told me exactly the same thing. I don't know what's going to happen, but I can assure you that whenever I leave this place, we will be in a much better position."
