Kajol to essay the role of Taanaji's wife in Ajay Devgn starrer 'Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior'!

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn will be producing and starring in Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. The movie will be directed by Om Raut and is based on Tanaji Malusare and his heroic fight in the Battle of Sinhagad.

 

The film will be budgeted at a whopping Rs 150 crores owing to heavy VFX work and the period war drama is going on floors on September 25.

 

When it comes to the leading lady to star as Taanaji's wife, Ajay's real-life wife and actress Kajol may star opposite her husband, as per a tabloid.

 

A source disclosed to a daily, "It’s likely that Kajol will play the female lead opposite Ajay in the movie. If she gives her nod, she will essay the role of Taanaji’s wife. Although essentially it’s a war film, it also focuses on the relationship between the Maratha warrior and his wife."

 

"Kajol’s Marathi dialect is perfect and the role suits her. When she heard the part, she was excited about it. The mapping, layout, paperwork, designing and planning are happening right now. The makers have locked some locations outside Mumbai and have even started building the sets," the source further added.
