The music of Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is praiseworthy enough to be played repetitively.

Generally, Akshay's films have been boasting of some good melody that has a rooted appeal to it. Now seeing the fact that by its core essence Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is as rooted as it can get, the music too falls under the same range with lyrics by Siddharth-Garima.

 

The album begins with Sonu Nigam’s Hans Mat Pagli. Beginner Vickey Prasad does really well to seep in some good melody into his composition and rest is taken care of by Siddharth-Garima's lyrics that are as 'desi' as they can get with an appeal that should really penetrate well into the interiors of the country. Furthermore, there is further class added to the proceedings with Shreya Ghoshal coming on the scene, something that pretty much guarantees a hit song for Bhumi Pednekar who is returning after Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

 

The very next song is Bakheda. Vickey Prasad as the composer, this one has the experienced 'jodi' of Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan doing the honors behind the mike. There is natural sweetness to this romantic number where both singers keep their boisterous self under check and sing at a low pitch. It is a lively number.

 

Now next one is Sonu Nigam and Palak Muchhal’s Gori Tu Latthmaar for the audience. There is intrinsic pain hidden in this Siddharth-Garima written song and this is the reason why newcomer composer duo Manas-Shikhar had a job in hand. While they had to keep the proceedings as per the theme and situation of the movie.

 

The album ends with song Subha Ki Train which has newcomers Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur coming into play. The teenagers are responsible for the composition as well as the singing part of this song that has love and romance as the central element.

 

Overall, the music of Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is really pure and harmonious. The soundtrack is praiseworthy enough to be played repetitively.
