Film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha's soundtrack reminds us the vintage 90's melodies.

Filmmaker Sunneel Darshan and composer Nadeem come together for the entire soundtrack of Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha. Composer Nadeem is coming back in music industry from this film. More so, since the filmmaker is making a comeback himself and bringing to fore his son Shiv Darshan. With Faiz Anwar joining Nadeem for lyrics, Palak Muchhal and Yaseer Desai are roped in as singers for all the songs.

 

The soundtrack starts with title track 'Ek Haseena Thi'. While it is quite obvious that there is good auto-tuning put into place, something which does put you off initially, you do go with the flow as the five minute long song proceed. There is also a repeat version of the song, 'Tum Kahan The', emerging towards the very end. While this one too has Yaseer leading the show, it is the arrival of Palak behind the mike that takes the song to the next level. A good melodic number.

 

The next song is Hue Bechain. It doesn't really go all the way in the 70s set up, there is indeed an old world charm still in there with the hero, heroine and then the third angle joining the proceedings on the party floor and the guests beginning to get into a slow dance as well into the background. A song that suddenly reminds one of the kind of songs that Udit Narayan and Sadhana Sargam used to sing for Nadeem Shravan and Sameer, this one is an another tuneful number.

 

The next one is Hanste Hanste which is a romantic number. A quintessential romantic number from the era gone by that time and again succeeds in making an impression, particularly for those with their heart beating in love and remembering the ones who take their breath away, 'Hanste Hanste' has a good flow to it right from the beginning to the end.

 

The next one is Nain. It would be interesting to see how filmmaker Suneel Darshan has picturised 'Nain'. This is yet another song with a strong vintage feel to it and it also manages to connect with you promptly. As is the theme and mood of the album so far, each of the songs carries certain love element to it and 'Nain' is no different. It is an enjoyable number.

 

The next one is Aankhon Mein Aansoo which has a trademark Nadeem-Shravan stamp to it. Back then in the early 2000s they had come up with quite a few romantic songs belonging to this style and setting, and 'Aankhon Mein Aansoo' pretty much takes the trend forward, particularly as it proceeds towards its middle portions.

 

The album ends with song Tum Kahaan The. This is also a tuneful number.

 

The soundtrack has as many as six songs and once you are through listening to it a couple of times, you really appreciate what Nadeem has brought on board for the movie. While he makes sure that the vintage element is intact in each of his songs. While the soundtrack should work for them in the long run, for those belonging to pre-Millennial era who stay on to be the lovers of vintage 90s Nadeem-Shravan songs, this one is a must hear.

 

The songs Hue Bechain, Ek Haseena Tha, Nain and Hanste Hanste are tuneful and romantic numbers.
